SHIFT | Route Guide
Welcome to the SHIFT Road Rally… Here’s what you need to know… and (more importantly) do before arriving on Saturday morning at 8:30am for the driver’s meeting… Please read through this twice. 👀
You will receive a printed copy of the Route Guide when you arrive on Saturday.
⏰ Drive Time…
The route has been recon’d twice in the past 4 days and adjusted accordingly to assure that the turn-by-turn instructions are reliable and we avoid as much construction/traffic as possible. That said, here is the day’s agenda.
Leg 01: Leave Silo @ 9:00am
Leg 01: Arrive Putnam @ 10:00am
Putnam Club Tour: 30 minutes
Leg 02: Leave Putnam @ 10:30am
Leg 02: Arrive The Fields @ 12:30pm
Luncheon: 60 minutes
Leg 03: Leave The Fields @ 01:30pm
Leg 03: Arrive Brown Co Inn @ 03:00pm
Brief Stop: 15 min
Leg 04: Leave Brown Co Inn @ 3:15pm
Leg 04: Arrive Silo @ 4:45pm
⛽️ Do yourself (and your passenger) a favor, and start the day with a full tank.
The first reasonably good place to get gas is in Spencer. The next is once we’re in Bloomington.
🌦️ Rally Weather…
Indiana’s weather is predictably unpredictable. Check the forecast and wear what’s appropriate… That could be a winter coat, a rain coat or a T-shirt. Our rallies run in both liquid sunshine or actual sunshine, we always hope for the latter.
🧭 Before you Leave…
Download the Google Maps app AND/OR the THUSIA mobile app on your phone. You’re going to be doing it regardless, it’s easier to when you’re not in the parking lot asking unsympathetic friends and acquaintances. If you’re driving with someone you consider to be a “young person” have them do it.
⏰ Planning your Arrival…
Everyone will meet at the Silo Auto Club at or before 8:30am…. At 8:30am, we’ll have a light breakfast and driver’s meeting to review the day’s schedule, some route highlights, and more.
Plan to arrive with a full tank of gas⛽️… The first reasonable place to get gas is in Spencer.
🍽️ Lunch Plans…
Lunch will be provided at The Fields in Bloomington. We’ll try to be there by 12:30pm. There’s no penalty for being late (or early for that matter), but please be aware of the time.
🃏 Poker Hand…
Throughout the day, you’ll receive a card at specific times (5 in total)… Please make sure you collect a card as we are distributing them… The best three hands at the end of the day will win some fun prizes… and have bragging rights for the entire year. It’s one hand per car to keep it simple. Good luck.
🚔 It’s a Rally, Not a Race…
All of our rallies are specifically designed as enthusiastic and spirited drives through some of the best roads Indiana has to offer. That said, careless and/or reckless driving will not be tolerated. Members of the law enforcement community will be present throughout the course.
Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations is required, as is the use of courtesy and common sense.

If you’re driving in this event, you’re an adult licensed to operate a motor vehicle on public roads. We all know what that means. Please contribute to the solution, not to the problem.

Local law enforcement agencies in each of the communities we will be driving through are aware of our route and drivers, please wave to and thank our local law enforcement officers for their service.
🗺️ ROUTE GUIDE…
The fastest way NOT to get lost is to use either (or both) of our Route Guides. To use them, you must have the Google Maps app or the THUSIA app installed on your mobile devices. It’s 2026, all the detail we print out will be on a single page, everything else is digital.
Google Maps users…
Google Maps wants to take you the most efficient way to your where you’re going, but we’ll be taking the most fun way. So, the map is broken into a series of destinations… Please press CONTINUE as you reach each destination and then drive on. It works perfectly on your mobile device or through your car’s Apple CarPlay or Android Auto…. and it a great task for your passenger.
THUSIA app users…
Navigate to Profile, choose My Events, and select Shift Road Rally… scroll down to the Route Guide and tap the map. To begin, select the desired Leg, and tap Navigate this Leg.
Look for an email invitation to Test Flight in order to download the THUSIA mobile app. We have already created accounts for you, and you will only need to enter your email and use “Shift2026!” (no quotes) as the temporary password to get into the app. It’s pre-release software, so set expectations accordingly.
