Artistry & Elegance: Expanding Space for Women of Artomobilia
What started as an honest conversation became a purposeful luncheon that celebrates the performing arts, community, and the women who have always been part of Artomobilia’s story.
Artomobilia had grown into something special. A recognized automotive event that transforms the Arts & Design District and Carmel Midtown into a living automotive gallery. More than 500 cars displayed across streets lined with over 100 merchants, restaurants, galleries, and public spaces. Automotive art and design, presented on the incredible canvas of Carmel.
But John’s wife, Caroline, asked a fair question. What are we doing for the women?
John’s answers were factual but largely unsatisfying. Yes, more women enter cars each year. Yes, thousands of daughters, mothers, and grandmothers attend Artomobilia and enjoy everything Carmel has to offer beyond the cars. But none of that felt intentional. None of it felt like it was designed for them.
Caroline suggested something simple and thoughtful. A luncheon, just for ladies, that celebrated the broader arts and culture that make Artomobilia special. Partnering with longtime friend and colleague Liza Najem, the idea expanded to include the performing arts, working alongside organizations such as the Carmel Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Opera, and the Center for the Performing Arts.
The luncheon is hosted each year at one of Carmel’s most beautiful and prominent restaurants, made possible by the creativity, hospitality, and support of an exceptional chef and management team. The setting is as intentional as the experience itself.
The result is a luncheon that feels distinct, purposeful, and meaningful.
