If you are a car person in Indianapolis and you have never been to Mecum, this weekend is your opportunity to fix that. And if you have been before, you already know you do not need much convincing.

Dana Mecum's 39th Annual Spring Classic is running now through May 16 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Roughly 3,000 vehicles are expected to cross Mecum's signature red carpet over the course of the nine-day event. The range of what you will find on that floor is genuinely hard to summarize. American muscle, European exotics, Japanese classics, pre-war machines, motorcycles, and everything in between. The most significant cars cross the block on Saturday, May 16.

This year, Mecum was kind enough to host our Artomobilia judging team for a behind-the-scenes tour of the operation, and it was exactly as impressive as you would expect from a team that has been doing this at the highest level for nearly four decades. The logistics alone are remarkable. The knowledge and care that goes into cataloguing, presenting, and moving thousands of vehicles through a sale of this scale reflects the kind of institutional expertise that only comes with time and genuine passion for the cars.
