Moments of Joy: Meet Random Acts of Flowers

As Driven to Give fills up, we're highlighting the organizations it supports, starting with Random Acts of Flowers.

Driven to Give is filling up with worthy local charities and the collectors and enthusiasts who support them. Over the next few weeks, we'll highlight some of these organizations and the interesting work they're doing in and around the Indianapolis community.

That's the heart of this event. Beyond a great day of driving, Driven to Give directs real support to causes these enthusiasts care about, through their own contributions, matching funds from the Woodard Van Riper Family Foundation, and, with a little luck, a winning poker hand along the route. Together, those pieces add up to something that can genuinely help these organizations expand and continue their missions.

The first we'd like to introduce is Random Acts of Flowers.

It's a unique organization with a simple, powerful idea. Random Acts of Flowers improves the emotional health and well-being of individuals in healthcare facilities by delivering recycled flowers, encouragement, and personal moments of kindness. Bouquets that might otherwise be thrown away are gathered, rebuilt, and delivered to people struggling with injury, illness, and the aging process, small moments of joy delivered exactly when they matter most.

The scale of it is remarkable. Since their first delivery in 2016, the Indianapolis chapter has delivered more than 170,000 bouquets, and today they bring roughly 2,000 of these moments of joy each month to people across Marion and seven surrounding counties. It's the kind of quiet, direct kindness that's easy to admire and easy to support.

We're excited to do our part in forwarding their mission. Watch for more of the organizations that make Driven to Give what it is in the weeks ahead.
