The Season Opens on the Road
SHIFT has always been one of the highlights of the Artomobilia calendar. This year, we moved it to the front.
Some events you attend. SHIFT is one you seize.
For years it's been a highlight for a small, dedicated group of enthusiasts who know what a well-curated road rally actually feels like. The company is right. The cars are right. The roads are something else entirely. Southern Indiana doesn't advertise itself, but it earns your attention mile by mile. Curves that ask something of the driver. Pavement that rewards commitment. Roads we've chosen deliberately, because roads like these don't find themselves.
This year SHIFT opens the season, and that feels right. May 2 at Silo Car Club & Conservancy in Indianapolis, where Mike Simmons and his team, including the indispensable Jeff Hostetter, have been gracious partners and a proper home for an event like this. There is no better place to gather a group of enthusiasts before sending them out onto roads worth driving.
The day starts with a Driver's Meeting and light breakfast at 8:30am, wheels rolling at 9. The route winds through some of the finest driving roads in southern Indiana, with a stop or two along the way before arriving near Bloomington for lunch. Cole McCardel and the team at Motoring Wealth Advisors of Raymond James host, and Adam Hoffman of Big Hoffa's Smokehouse handles the food. Those two facts together should tell you everything you need to know about how the afternoon begins.
After lunch, more road. Then back to Silo to settle in and let the day decompress the way good days do. You'll exercise the car the way it deserves. You'll share the road with people who understand why that matters. And if the urge for something more structured strikes, Chris Diasio at The Club at Putnam Park is the right call (in fact, you’ll have the opportunity to visit his amazing facility along the route). SHIFT is not that. SHIFT is the road, the car, and the day. That's enough.
May is packed with amazing events, and a few of our drivers have asked about REV, the excellent event hosted at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the same day. The answer is yes, you can do both. SHIFT is structured with enough flexibility that if REV is on your list, simply peel off early and head north. We'd rather have you for part of the day than not at all, and the IMS is a worthy destination. Do both.
Make plans to join us.
