What Is the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge?

A closer look at the event that kicks off Artomobilia Weekend on August 28th.

It's a fair question, and so is the follow-up: what does it have to do with Artomobilia?

Here's the short version. Our goal for Artomobilia Weekend has always been to host one of the best, most interesting, most eclectic automotive event series in the Midwest. A few years ago, Porsche North America approached us about hosting the South-Central round of their Classic Restoration Challenge. We said yes. It puts us in good company, alongside the East Coast round at the Audrain Concours and the West Coast round during Monterey Car Week.

The Challenge takes place the day before Artomobilia, on Friday, August 28th at Motor District. It's a competition that recognizes some of Porsche's most noteworthy dealerships and the craftsmanship behind their restored classics. Not just anyone can enter. But anyone can come see it.

And it's worth seeing. Twenty-four exceptional cars, up close. A chance to talk with the judges, meet Porsche dealership representatives from across the country, and get to know our own Tom Wood Porsche team, who will be on site all day.

The hospitality matches the machinery. Lunch comes courtesy of Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, live music plays through the afternoon, and premium beverages round out a setting built for lingering. Best of all, you can bring your own Porsche. New, old, fast, or slow, every Porsche is welcome to join the display in a showcase of all things Stuttgart. And while you're on campus, make time to walk through the genuinely stunning garages at Motor District.

See the Restoration Challenge on Friday, get your tickets, tables, or lounges for Veloce that evening, and then join us for Artomobilia the following day in the Carmel Arts & Design District.

Don't miss a moment of it.
