Supporting the First Responders Who Supported Carmel

Hotel Carmichael's Somm Smackdown on September 24th benefits Carmel's flood-affected first responders.

Just before Artomobilia this year, Carmel was hit hard. A hundred-year rainstorm brought flooding across the city, and while our first responders worked feverishly to rescue and support victims throughout Carmel, the same floodwaters severely damaged some of their own personal property.

Think about that for a moment. The people who spent that day pulling neighbors out of harm's way went home to their own losses. They put the community first while their own belongings sat underwater. That kind of service deserves to be met with support, and there's a way to give it.

On September 24th, Hotel Carmichael is hosting the Somm Smackdown, and 100 percent of the funds will go to support the Carmel first responders who showed up when the community needed them most. It's a chance to enjoy a genuinely fun evening while giving back to the people who gave so much during the crisis.

We wanted to share it with our community because it's exactly the kind of cause the Indianapolis automotive world tends to rally around. The generosity we see at many of the events hosted by the Hamilton County automotive community is the same generosity these first responders earned the hard way, and this is a direct, meaningful way to say thank you.

One thing to know: seating is limited, and this one will sell out. If you're inclined to go, and to support a cause that hits close to home for anyone who was here during the flooding, don't wait to register.

The people who took care of Carmel deserve to have Carmel take care of them. Here's your chance to be part of that.
